Vetting

hedgielover22

Shortly after you get your hedgehog, you should take it to the vet for the first time. This is a requirement in order to maintain the health guarantee in our hedgehog sales contract. Even if your baby is not sick it is good to take it to the vet that you will normally use for a “well baby visit”. Doing this will allow your vet to see the way your hedgehog normally looks and acts, that way if anything happens they will have a baseline to compare your sick hedgehog to. An exam is usually $50-$70 in Florida. Hedgehogs don’t have any vaccinations or shots that they need on a regular basis. You should also get information on after-hours care from your vet, as some after-hours clinics aren’t able to accommodate exotic animals.
